Enjoying the rich flavors of summer fruits doesn't have to end when the season does. With Durbl's easy steps, you can freeze your favorite fruits and savor them all year long. Here's how to lock in that fresh, just-picked taste with our eco-friendly approach.Step 1: Choose Your FruitSelect ripe, seasonal fruits from your local market. Look for produce that’s slightly overripe which is ideal for freezing and usually offered at a discount. These fruits pack more flavor and are perfect for your freezer.Step 2: Prepare and PackBefore freezing, wash your fruits thoroughly, pat them dry, and prepare them by removing pits, cores, and stems. Slice fruits that require it, although small berries and grapes can be frozen whole. This preparation ensures that your fruits freeze individually and don't clump together.Step 3: Flash FreezeSpread your prepared fruit on a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat or eco-friendly parchment paper. Arrange them in a single layer to prevent pieces from sticking together. Place the tray in the freezer for a few hours until the fruit pieces are completely frozen.Step 4: Store in Durbl ContainersOnce frozen, transfer your fruits into Durbl's reusable silicone bags or containers. These materials are designed to be freezer-safe, helping to prevent freezer burn and maintain freshness. Press out as much air as possible before sealing to keep your fruits in prime condition.Step 5: Enjoy Year-RoundFrozen fruit can last in your freezer for up to eight months without losing taste or nutritional value. When you’re ready to use them, incorporate the frozen fruits directly into smoothies, baked goods, or defrost them for a natural sweet treat.Defrosting Tips:To thaw, simply transfer the desired amount of fruit from your Durbl container to the refrigerator overnight or submerge the sealed bag in cold water for quick thawing. Remember, once thawed, the fruit is best used in cooked dishes or smoothies as freezing can alter textures. Why Choose to Freeze?Freezing fruit on your own not only supports local farmers and reduces your carbon footprint, but it also allows you to avoid the excess packaging that often comes with store-bought frozen fruits. Why Test the Capacity?
When shopping for a silicone lunch box or collapsible container, one big question always comes up:“Does the labeled 600ml actually hold 600ml, or will it overflow halfway?”
Too often we’ve seen containers that look good on paper but fail in real life. So, to find out the truth, I decided to run a simple but practical capacity test on the Durbl 600ml silicone lunch box.
The Test: Two Bottles of Coca-Cola
For this experiment, I used something everyone knows: two 300ml bottles of Coca-Cola.
First bottle (300ml): the container filled up to about halfway.
Second bottle (another 300ml): the container reached the top, snug and exact.
Double-checked with a measuring cup: total capacity matched perfectly — no exaggeration, no shortfall.
The result: the Durbl 600ml collapsible container truly equals two bottles of Coke.

Durbl sustainable silicone containers are collapsible, making them perfect for storing, packing lunches, yogurts, and they won't leak. You can even cook right in them and eat directly! That's why they're ideal for making these overnight oats, requiring just one bowl for preparation, storage, and transportation.
Overnight oats are a simple and delicious breakfast option that can be prepared in advance, saving you time in the morning. Here's a recipe for you:
Ingredients:
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup milk (or milk alternative like plant-based milk)
2 tablespoons yogurt (optional)
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Assorted fruits, nuts, or other toppings for decoration and flavor
Step:
In a Durbl container, mix together the rolled oats, milk, yogurt (if using), honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract (if using). Ensure the liquid fully covers the oats to allow them to absorb.
Stir the mixture well, then cover the container with a lid or sealable bag and refrigerate overnight (at least 6 hours). During this time, the oats will absorb the liquid and become soft and edible.
In the morning or when ready to eat, top the overnight oats with any desired fruits, nuts, or other toppings for decoration and flavor. You can choose chopped bananas, blueberries, strawberries, nuts, dried fruits, etc., according to your preference.
Stir well and enjoy. If you prefer your overnight oats warm, you can heat them in the microwave for about a minute before adding fruits and other toppings.

I had the kind with a plastic slider on the top - I hated using them & they didn't seal well and things got freezer burn quickly. These seem to seal much better and are much easier to use, and the silicone being really clear so you can see the contents easily is very helpful too. You can fit a lot more in them than you think, I've been using the snack size more than I thought I would. I wish they would offer the quart size individually - I don't understand why you can get every size except that one. Definitely recommend them
These are great, but I wish they would offer more buying options. They only come in a 3-pack and they don't offer just the size you want individually. I am loving using these for work lunches and that they are safe to heat up in the microwave. They seal well and are heavy duty enough to be sturdy, but don't feel heavy to cart around.
I bought these to stop buying 1-time use Zip-Loc bags. They aren't quite as convenient to use or store, but overall MUCH better. I will buy more. I also bought another top brand but I am sticking with Durbl.
