April shines bright at Durbl, marking a period of profound significance as we celebrate Earth Month, anchoring our festivities around Earth Day on April 22nd. Our commitment to environmental conservation extends beyond a mere day, embodying a month-long crusade of global awareness and activism—a philosophy ingrained in our ethos throughout the year.
Unveiling the Roots of Earth Day
The year 1970 marked a pivotal turn in our environmental consciousness. After centuries of unchecked industrial growth, the perilous consequences of pollution began to surface with alarming clarity. Deadly smog and a sharp decline in biodiversity signaled a need for change. Responding to this urgent call, the first Earth Day on April 22nd mobilized millions worldwide, igniting a movement for environmental justice.
The era that followed witnessed the establishment of the Environmental Protection Agency and the enactment of seminal environmental protections, including the Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act, underscoring a newfound commitment to our planet.
Since that defining moment, the Earth Day Network has been a beacon of hope, championing a multitude of environmental initiatives from reforestation to wildlife conservation and oceanic cleanup efforts. Presently, it spearheads the battle against the burgeoning crisis of plastic pollution.
Our Crusade Against Plastic
At Durbl, our mission is laser-focused on combating plastic pollution. It's a stark reality that daily, millions of plastic bags are discarded in the U.S. alone, contributing to landfill overflow and devastating marine ecosystems.
In response, Durbl champions the use of completely plastic-free, sustainable alternatives, striving to mitigate the single-use plastic dilemma.
A single Durbl product has the potential to prevent the waste of countless plastic bags and containers, embodying our vision for a cleaner planet. Moreover, Durbl commits to recycling any of its products that reach the end of their lifespan, transforming them into materials for community playgrounds.
I had the kind with a plastic slider on the top - I hated using them & they didn't seal well and things got freezer burn quickly. These seem to seal much better and are much easier to use, and the silicone being really clear so you can see the contents easily is very helpful too. You can fit a lot more in them than you think, I've been using the snack size more than I thought I would. I wish they would offer the quart size individually - I don't understand why you can get every size except that one. Definitely recommend them
These are great, but I wish they would offer more buying options. They only come in a 3-pack and they don't offer just the size you want individually. I am loving using these for work lunches and that they are safe to heat up in the microwave. They seal well and are heavy duty enough to be sturdy, but don't feel heavy to cart around.
